Since starting this blog, I haven’t really shared much of our home. I’m planning on doing it slowly with some home tours for each season so it doesn’t get too old. 😉
You haven’t really seen my dining room yet except for 4th of July, so today seemed like a perfect time to share! Especially before the busy holiday decorating coming up in a couple of months.
Welcome to our classic dining room!
For our dining room, I knew I wanted it to be a beautiful space, but nothing super fancy. The house we are currently in has the dining room sharing the same space as the living room, so it just didn’t make sense to make it formal.
This is pretty much how our table looks everyday. I didn’t want any crazy centerpieces because really, each day we have is simple. We like it that way!
The table and chairs are one of the first things we bought as a married couple. I would love to replace them with some pretty English antiques in the future, but not anytime soon. 😉
One of my favorite things about this room are these blue and white willow plates. They were my grandmother’s and so special to me.
I remember admiring them when I was little at her house and I am very proud to have them hanging in my home now. I credit my love for blue and white to her!
Another thing I love to do for our dinners is light candles. It just takes a simple meal and makes it a special occasion. I surprisingly used to hate taper candles a couple years ago, but now they are my favorite. Total taper convert, if that’s even a thing! 😂
Thanks for taking a peak inside our home!
