Generally, I love to have our home decorated for not only holidays, but also seasons. There are only about a handful of months in the year that I feel don’t really attribute to any decor scheme: August, September, and January.
In my opinion, August is a little too late to be decorated for summer and September is a little too early to be decorated for fall. Because of this, I generally have our home decorated pretty neutral in these months, hence the title “everyday.” I guess you could say pre-fall, since these colors are pretty muted. 😉
I’ve made a couple of updates for our living room and thought that it might be fun to share!
The most obvious change is probably the addition of this beautiful new rug.
It was quite an ordeal honestly, but I was determined to find a rug for our living room. The first one I ordered Fedex refused to deliver because it had been damaged severely during shipping. It was the last one in stock too of a rug that was being discontinued, so it was no longer available. 😑
Honestly, I’m glad that happened because I am in love with the second one I picked out. Here is a look at it up close. It is the Safavieh Anatolia Collection rug in 9×12. I’m going to go more into detail next week when I give my tips for buying rugs online, but I am obsessed.
The second change is replacing the pillows.
Ever since Jenny shared a preview of her classic collection on Instagram, I was in love. These are probably my most favorite pillows I now own.
The last change? This new botanical art in gold leaf frames.
You may remember that I used to have a faux fiddle leaf tree here. I had it for about 5 years and it wasn’t really my style anymore. I am loving this clean look instead!
The great thing about botanical prints is that they are so classic and go with anything. I’ve got some autumn ones that I am working on getting printed to check for quality. If they print fine, I will be sharing them as a free printable around the end of September!
This room looks so different to me now. It is amazing how much warmth the rug has added to the space.
I am planning on filling our home with these gold frames pretty much. The price is so good and I just love the shade of gold. I found these at Jenny’s store also, same as pillows.
A soothing sight before the madness of holiday decorating begins in a few short months.
Some pretty flowers to brighten up the space.
Thanks for looking!
